Pan Roasted Green Beans

I love the flavor of this dish. You can’t go wrong with Balsamic vinegar, and I love red onions. I used a garlic enhanced olive oil, mushrooms and fresh thyme, to add a savory flavor.

This is such an appealing side dish that could be served with any meal.

Serves 4


1    lbs    Green Beans — Trimmed
1/2    tbsp    Olive Oil
2    ea    Small Red onions — cut in 8 wedges
½    cup    Chicken Broth
1    tbsp    Balsamic Vinegar
2    tsp    Brown Sugar
¼    tsp    Salt
¼    tsp    Pepper


Steam beans til crisp tender. Heat oil in pan and saute onions til browned. Add broth and reduce a bit. Stir in vinegar, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Add beans. Serve.
